Easter holiday operating hours and activities for the City of St. Catharines

April 17, 2025 – Hopping into the long weekend and wondering what there is to do in
St. Catharines?


Most City of St. Catharines facilities will be closed Friday, April 18 and will reopen
Monday, April 21, including City Hall, the St. Catharines Enterprise Centre, other City
administrative offices and Victoria Lawn Cemetery (visitation is always open from dawn
to dusk).


Call 905.688.5600 to report fallen trees, problems on roads and sidewalks, blocked
catch basins or sewer back-ups.


The following City community centres, however, are designated as advance polling
stations for the Federal Election and will be open for voting April 18-21 from 9 a.m. to 9
p.m.: Russell Avenue Community Centre; St. Catharines Kiwanis Aquatics Centre and
St. Catharines Museum and Welland Canals Centre. Voters can visit Elections Canada
online at elections.ca for more information.


The St. Catharines Farmers Market will be open Saturday, April 19 from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Visit the Farmers Market from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on April 19 for the Eggstravaganza
Event and enjoy delicious sugar cookies, colouring and activity pages for young
shoppers, recipes and more.


The Seymour-Hannah Sports and Entertainment Centre will be open for the St.

Catharines Falcons eastern conference playoff game on Friday, April 18. Seymour-
Hannah and Bill Burgoyne Arena will be open April 19-21. Find public skating programs

The St. Catharines Museum and Welland Canals Centre is closed Friday, April 18. The
Lock 3 viewing area and Discovery Park, however, will be open from dawn to dusk. The
museum will be open Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Among the things to see and do
at the museum include the new Stan Mikita exhibition gallery featuring stories of sports,
performing arts, along with architectural remnants and Mr. Grape as well as the Food,
Glorious Food temporary exhibition celebrating food traditions in and around the local
community.


The pools at the St. Catharines Kiwanis Aquatics Centre will be closed Friday, April 18
and Sunday, April 20. The pools will be open Saturday, April 19 and Monday, April 21

with leisure swims and other aquatic programs for families to enjoy. Visit

admission requirements and more information.


The following City community centres will be closed Friday, April 18 and Sunday, April
20: Port Weller Community Centre, Dunlop Drive Older Adult Centre and the West St.
Catharines Older Adults Centre. While the Russell Avenue Community Centre will be
open as an advance poll, no City programs will be running on Friday and Sunday. Visit
