A 19-year-old Cobourg man is facing charges after police responded to a weapons call on Sunday night.
 

On Sunday, May 4, 2025, at approximately 11:45 p.m., police responded to a weapons call in the area of Trevor Street and Trailsview Avenue in Cobourg after a report that a man holding a large kitchen knife approached a vehicle and slammed it off the car window, causing damage.
 

As a result of the police investigation, a 19-year-old Cobourg man was arrested and charged with two counts of assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and mischief Under $5,000.
 

The accused was released on an undertaking with a June 4, 2025, court date.
