The Rotary Club of Northumberland Sunrise announced at its 25th Anniversary celebration on Thursday May 2nd, the launch of a one-time $25,000 Community Grant. This initiative commemorates the Club’s quarter-century of dedication to “Service Above Self” and aims to invest in the future of Northumberland County by supporting a transformative local initiative. This grant is above and beyond the $17,000-$20,000 in funds it distributes to the community in a typical year.
“We are thrilled to mark this milestone by giving back in a way that reflects our core values,” said Denise O’Brien, President of the Rotary Club of Northumberland Sunrise. “This grant is both a thank-you to the community that has supported us over the years and a catalyst for meaningful, lasting change.”
About the Grant
- Amount: up to $25,000
- Who Can Apply: Registered charitable organizations or non-profits operating within Northumberland County
- Application Period: June 1 – July 30, 2025
- Announcement of Recipient: October 2025
- Project Timeline: Must be implemented in late 2025 within the first 6 months of 2026
Projects must demonstrate strong community impact, align with Rotary’s values, and focus on areas such as education, health, economic development, environmental sustainability, and more.
Applicants will be evaluated on their project’s feasibility, sustainability, innovation, and alignment with at least one of Rotary’s Seven Areas of Focus, including peacebuilding, disease prevention, and environmental stewardship.
