Replacement of Section of Niagara River Recreation Trail in Niagara-on-the-Lake
  • Pedestrian bridge to be replaced; traffic detour May 22 and 23, 2025

Niagara-on-the-Lake, ON—Niagara Parks is replacing an aging pedestrian bridge along the Niagara River Recreation Trail, located just south of Line 3 Road in Niagara-on-the-Lake. The work will take place from Thursday, May 22, to Friday, May 23.

Traffic Detour and Restricted Access to Recreation Trail

To ensure public safety, a traffic detour will be implemented for through-traffic during the construction period:

  • Northbound traffic will be redirected via Line 6 Road to Concession 1 Road to Line 3 Road and vice versa for southbound traffic.
  • The Niagara River Recreation Trail within the work zone will also be closed, with no pedestrian detour available.

Dust, loud noises and other inconveniences may occur during this period. Niagara Parks is committed to accommodating area residents and businesses throughout this project. Measures will be taken to minimize disruptions and ensure access to properties within the construction zone.

We appreciate your patience, understanding and cooperation during this essential construction project.
