As part of Police Week 2025 – "Protecting Ontario," the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) is proud to announce the results of its 5th annual Spring Forward Food Drive.
Led by members of the Community Oriented Response and Engagement Unit (CORE), the Spring Forward Food Drive has, over the past four years, collected more than 67,000 pounds of food and $42,000 in cash and gift card donations from generous members of the public and local businesses.
This year, CORE officers once again teamed up with 10 local food banks and 13 grocery stores to help address the growing need for food support across the Niagara region and tackle year-round food insecurity affecting families and individuals in our community.
Thanks to the generosity shown by the Niagara public, the NRPS raised 10,817 pounds of food and received $6,530 in cash donations, bringing the five-year total to over 77,800 pounds of food and more than $48,500 in cash.
