In celebration of International Trail Day, the Town of Niagara-on-the-Lake and the Heritage Trail Committee invite community members to participate in a special Community Walk on Saturday, June 7, 2025, beginning at 1:00 p.m. at Veterans’ Memorial Park at 370 King Street.
Led by local Special Olympics World Games Medalists Carter Simpson and Ewen Barclay, the walk will follow the scenic Heritage Trail from Veterans’ Memorial Park to East and West Line and Concession 1 Road, a round-trip distance of approximately 4 kilometres. Participants are welcome to walk part or all of the trail, extending their route to Line 3 Road if desired.
"This event is a fantastic opportunity to enjoy our beautiful trail system and come together as a community to support active living,” stated Lord Mayor Gary Zalepa. “We’re proud to host this walk alongside incredible local athletes who inspire us all.”
The event is free and open to all ages. No registration is required, and ample free parking is available. Cash or cheque donations to the Heritage Trail are welcome and appreciated. Learn more at https://www.notl.com/recreation-events/community-initiatives-events
