Knights of Columbus 2319 Donates $4,000 to Local Charities Following Successful Garden Fest Event

Thorold, ON. June 19, 2025. Knights of Columbus 2319 is proud to announce the donation of
$4,000 to four local charities following the success of Garden Fest, held on April 25, 26, 27 in
the parking lot at the Holy Rosary Hall in Thorold.

The event, which brought together local residents, supporters, and sponsors, was organized to
raise funds and awareness for local causes that match the Knights’ mission to serve our
communities especially where the need matters most. Thanks to the generous contributions of
attendees and donors, the Knights of Columbus Sacred Heart Council 2319 in Thorold has
distributed the funds among the following organizations:
● Hotel Dieu Shaver Foundation (patient care equipment) - $1,000
● Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church (basement renovation) - $1,000
● Special Olympics - $1,000
● Wellspring Niagara - $1,000

Thanks to many donors visiting Garden Fest, a collection of non-perishable foods filled a barrel
which has been given to the St. Vincent de Paul Society Food Bank for families in need.
“We are incredibly grateful for the community’s support,” said John Perri, Chair of the Garden
Fest event. “These donations will directly support programs and services that make a real
difference in people's lives.”

The 5th annual Garden Fest featured the sale of lawn and garden products, 50/50 draw tickets,
a collection of refundable bottles (beer, wine, liquor), drawing supporters from across Niagara.
Boosting the fundraiser on Saturday, April 26, the Knights were also at the Earth Day
Celebration in the Thorold Arena and sold food and drinks at the canteen. Overall, this year’s
impact exceeded expectations and reflects the generosity and commitment of everyone pulling
together.

The Knights plan to continue its support for charitable causes with more events and outreach
throughout the year.
