Welland launches Strategic Plan dashboard to connect residents with City’s goals and actions

Welland, ON – The City of Welland has launched a new online dashboard to track and share progress on the City's 2023–2026 Strategic Plan. Available on the City’s website, the dashboard promotes transparency and keeps residents informed about initiatives, milestones, and timelines tied to Council’s strategic priorities.

Adopted in June 2023, the Strategic Plan sets out clear objectives under four key priorities: Economic Growth, Health and Well-being, Environmental Stewardship, and Livability.

The dashboard is being introduced through a phased launch beginning June 23. In this first phase, residents can view the dashboard online, explore the list of strategic plan priorities, objectives and actions currently underway, and submit questions via email about the plan. The second phase, planned for July, will provide progress updates on each action item, providing deeper insight into how the City is delivering on its goals.

“Launching this dashboard is a major step in our commitment to open and transparent government,” said Lina DeChellis, director of economic development and strategic initiatives. “It gives residents a clear view into how City staff are working together to deliver on Council’s priorities and bring our shared vision to life.”

The dashboard launch follows a period of extensive staff engagement. Earlier this year, City staff participated in strategic alignment workshops and information sessions to ensure departmental goals align with the Strategic Plan. This work ensures that all City services are working toward a common vision: inspiring and promoting an active, resilient, and sustainable community.
