Guided Spirit Walks Return for 14th Year at Victoria Lawn Cemetery

July 29, 2025 – The St. Catharines Museum and Welland Canals Centre invites
residents to join the 14th annual Guided Spirit Walks at Victoria Lawn Cemetery, a
beloved annual event that brings history to life through a guided walk and theatrical
performances throughout the cemetery.

“The Guided Spirit Walks are a fantastic opportunity to connect with our community’s
past. Our talented volunteer performers bring history to life, providing a memorable
experience for all in attendance,” said Kathleen Powell, Historical Services Supervisor.
“We’re excited to once again offer Thursday evening performances for both weekends,
providing additional times for guests to join us.”

With this year’s theme, “What happened to Michael O’Meala?”, attendees will find out
what happened to Michael in addition to stories of true crime in 1850s St Catharines.
Guests will also learn about notable residents Ann McNamara, Eliza McClelland, Oliver
Phelps, Adam Montgomery, Nancy Rykert, Thomas Burns, and Charles Camp – all of
whom are interred at the cemetery, located at 431 Queenston St. in St. Catharines.

Performances will take place on the following dates:
• Thursdays: Sept. 4 and 11 at 7 p.m.
• Fridays: Sept. 5 and 12 at 6 p.m. and 7 p.m.
• Saturdays: Sept. 6 and 13 at 6 p.m. and 7 p.m.

Tickets are available in advance only, starting Friday, Aug. 1, at $16.50 per person.

Residents are recommended to secure a spot early, as space is limited. Tickets can be
