August 16-17, 2025

Join Parks Canada and the Friends of Fort George for the return of the annual Fife and Drum Muster and Soldiers’ Field Day weekend. Fife and drum corps and infantry units converge on Fort George National Historic Site, showcasing the military music and drills of the early 19th century

Fort George National Historic Site will be open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. all weekend.  The schedule for this special event weekend includes music demonstrations by the Fifes and Drums of the 41st Regiment from Fort George, The Drums Crown Forces, The Village Volunteers, the Fort Niagara Fife and Drum Corps, and the 100th Regiment Fifes and Drums.

Additionally, infantry units from Fort George, Fort Erie, and the 10th Royal Veteran’s Battalion will demonstrate early 19th century military tactics, including musket firing.  There will be perfect volley competition, a speed loading competition, and firepower demonstration throughout the weekend.

This weekend-long event has become an annual tradition at Fort George National Historic Site and will be free under the Canada Strong Pass.
