A Lasting Legacy: A Gift to Artists and the Community

Niagara-on-the-Lake, ON — The Niagara Pumphouse Arts Centre is proud to announce a
renewed gift of $25,000 from Geoffrey and Lorraine Joyner, ensuring its main gallery will
continue to be known as The Joyner Gallery.

The Joyner Gallery offers dedicated exhibition space for local artists and beyond, providing the
community and visitors with a place to experience a wide range of exhibitions year-round. This
renewed support strengthens the art centre’s ability to present broad and diverse exhibitions,
showcasing both emerging and established talent.

Geoffrey and Lorraine are Lifetime Members and long-time champions of the Niagara
Pumphouse Arts Centre. Geoffrey previously served as President of Sotheby’s Canada before
establishing his own art consultancy and auction firm in 1985. Lorraine has been an active
volunteer in Niagara-on-the-Lake, serving on several boards and supporting numerous
charitable causes.

For the Joyners, this renewed support is deeply personal. “We’ve always believed in the
importance of giving artists a place to share their work,” said Geoffrey Joyner. “It means a great
deal to us that the gallery will carry our name, and that it will continue to welcome both local and
visiting artists.”

Lorraine Joyner added, “Niagara Pumphouse Arts Centre has been an important part of our
community for many years. We’re pleased to support it in a way that helps it grow and remain a
place people look forward to visiting.”

“The Joyners’ continued generosity ensures that our gallery remains a welcoming space to
experience art year-round,” said Rima Boles, Art Centre Director of Niagara Pumphouse Arts
Centre. “We are incredibly fortunate to have such dedicated and inspiring supporters who
believe in the power of art to enrich lives.”

A commemorative plaque recognizing the Joyners is installed at the gallery. For information
