Mayor Siscoe’s Ward townhallSTC Series Returns This Fall!

ST. CATHARINES – Mayor Mat Siscoe is bringing City Hall directly to the community once again with the return of townhallSTC, a citywide initiative that puts residents face-to-face with their local government.

After a successful start to 2025 with events in Grantham, St. Patrick’s, and St. George’s Wards, the Fall 2025 schedule kicks off with three more engaging evenings in Merritton, Port Dalhousie, and St. Andrew’s. Each event offers a unique opportunity for residents to share their concerns and feedback, as well as ask questions directly to the Mayor and their local Ward Councillors.

“The conversations we’ve had so far this year have been very insightful,” said Mayor Siscoe. “These townhall events allow us to listen directly to residents and act based on what we hear, when and where we can. We’re excited to continue that momentum this fall.”

Upcoming TownhallSTC Events:

Merritton Ward
Wednesday, September 17, 2025
5:30 PM – 7:30 PM
Merritton Community Centre, 7 Park Avenue
Mayor Mat Siscoe, Councillor Greg Miller, Councillor Jackie Lindal

“Merritton is a tight-knit and hard-working community,” said Councillor Jackie Lindal. “Hearing from residents directly helps us advocate for what matters most to them, from infrastructure to neighbourhood pride.”

“We’ve made progress on several local projects, including the splash pad and the Community Park tennis courts. I’m looking forward to hearing more from the community about what’s next, so we can continue making Merritton Ward a great place to live, work, and play,” added Councillor Greg Miller.

Port Dalhousie Ward
Wednesday, October 29, 2025
5:30 PM – 7:30 PM
Grantham Optimist Club, 188 Linwell Road
Mayor Mat Siscoe, Councillor Bruce Williamson, Councillor Marty Mako

“Port Dalhousie is a historic and evolving part of our city and townhallSTC is a chance for residents to have a platform to personally share your concerns and ideas,” said Councillor Bruce Williamson. “It is a time for us as your representatives to listen to what you have to say about what matters directly to you.”

“Local government works best when we’re accessible and transparent,” said Councillor Marty Mako. “These events are about building trust and a stronger community, together.”

St. Andrew’s Ward
Wednesday, November 26, 2025
5:30 PM – 7:30 PM
Saint George and Saint Mercurius Coptic Orthodox Church, 118 Glenridge Avenue
Mayor Mat Siscoe, Councillor Joe Kushner, Councillor Matt Harris

“Our residents care deeply about the services that impact their daily lives: public transit, safety, and good governance,” said Councillor Joe Kushner. “We look forward to these meaningful discussions.”

“This is your chance to connect with your elected officials,” said Councillor Matt Harris. “Whether it’s your first townhall or you’ve attended the other Wards, we’re here to listen and work together to make St. Andrew’s even better.”

Residents are encouraged to attend the event in their own ward, but are welcome to join any and all townhallSTC events across the city.

All attendees are kindly asked to be mindful of scent sensitivities and to attend the event scent-free.
