Earlier this afternoon the City of Burlington installed "municipal speed camera coming soon" signs to give drivers at least 90 days' notice before the automated speed enforcement cameras are installed and activated. Turns out it was a very interesting day for the city to do so considering it was just this morning that the Mayor of Vaughan Steven Del Duca announced that his municipality would be putting an abrupt halt to their automated speed enforcement program that they launched since the drivers amassed over 30 thousand tickets within 3 weeks of the program going into effect. Jason Agnew asked Mayor Marianne Meed Ward why the City of Burlington has opted to go down the highly debated path of automated speed enforcement.
