Windsor Regional Hospital is asking for the public’s patience as the City of Windsor gets ready to repair and repave Goyeau St., which is expected to cause some delays for non-emergency vehicles driving to the Ouellette campus.
The work to repave the street from Erie St. to Giles Blvd. is scheduled to begin Monday, May 14th and last five to seven days (depending on the weather). This will result in temporary disruptions to normal access to the Ouellette campus from the Goyeau St. side. This work is required as part of local road infrastructure improvements and the goal is to have the work completed as quickly as possible while having a minimal impact on patients and visitors.
We have worked with the City of Windsor to ensure ambulances have an accessible route to the Emergency Department. We expect, however, some congestion and frustration for patients and visitors coming to the Ouellette campus, as well as those coming to and from work.
We are asking patients and visitors who plan on driving to the Ouellette campus to:
-
Allow a little more time to get to the hospital than normally required
-
Avoid Goyeau St. The parking garage will always be accessible from the entrance off Erie St., as will the “Viscount” lot accessed through Dufferin Place (off Giles Blvd).
-
Please be patient with road workers stationed around the campus who will do their best to direct vehicles to where they can park.
We will advise as soon as the road work is completed and/or if there are delays in completion.
