June 12 has been proclaimed "Loyalist Day in Kingston" to commemorate the fact that on June 12, 1784, Governor Haldimand received King George III's approval of "the plan you have proposed for settling some of the Loyalists at Cataraqui and places adjacent". Join the Kingston & District Branch of the UEL Association of Canada at City Hall on Ontario Street at noon as the Loyalist flag is raised for the day.
