Learn about our social history through home movies at the 2nd Annual Home Movie Day, 20 Oct, 2018, 1-4 pm at Bagnani Hall, Traill College, sponsored by Trent Valley Archives, Traill College & Trent Cultural Studies Dept.  To include your home movies please bring them to TVA at 567 Carnegie Ave. by Oct 18th. Event is free and popcorn will be served.  

Community Event - Belleville - Author Richard Pyves

Belleville Public Library is pleased to welcome author Richard Pyves for a book talk on Sat. Nov. 3 at 11:00 am. In honour of the 100th anniversary of the World War I armistice, Mr. Pyves will be discussing his book Courage, Sacrifice and Betrayal. In this book, Pyves outlines the lives of the soldiers of the 60th Battalion, one of only four Canadian WWI battalions to serve on the front lines. In his talk Mr. Pyves will be covering why and how he came to write the book, its significance, and some basic facts about the Canadian military during WWI.  No registration is required for this free event, books will be available for purchase.
