Name: Art Pod at the Judith & Norman Alix Art Gallery

Description: Session 3: Sun Prints – Specifically designed for youth with special needs, and an interest in fine arts, to explore art mediums through self-expression. Let’s explore the photographic printing process of creating cyanotypes or photographic blueprints! Participants will learn about the early uses of cyanotypes and its inventor. Participants will place found objects on photosensitive paper. Using the power of the sun to develop their photos, participants will expose the paper to the light to create their very own “sun prints”. Early arrival welcome at 4:30PM. Materials included. Spaces are limited. Ages 9-16. Registration required by calling 519-336-8127 ext. 3226. Caretaker or respite worker is required to provide support during the Art Pod workshop. Name: Summer RAAW at the Judith & Norman Alix Art Gallery

Description: RAAW Prints with Emily Lardner – Random Acts of Art Workshop (RAAW) is a creative intensive workshop designed just for teens (ages 14-18). Led by practicing professional artists, RAAW is the perfect balance of instruction and experimentation. No experience necessary. In this session – make like Andy Warhol and print it out. This RAAW is all about learning the ins-and-outs of silk-screening: how to design your own screen, apply inks, use different techniques, and pull prints. Bring your inspirations, make your own prints, or riff off of each other’s designs through collaboration to make wall hangings, patches, totes, and prints. Free, give what you can. Red Dot Tour of the Current Exhibitions – This tour is created for the casual and the curious! A quick look at one or two art works and you’re out the door – no registration necessary, just drop in. See? Casual. A Red Dot Tour lasts 15 minutes and runs Thursday, June 14 from 7-7:15PM. Free, give what you can.
