The Town of Essex will be hosting a Family Meal Prep and Cooking Class, just in time for the busy holiday season. This program is offered in partnership with the South West Area Recreation Guild, thanks to funding from the Healthy Kids Community Challenge. Local registered dietitian, Andrea Docherty, will host the cooking class on December 10, 2-3:30pm at the Essex Centre Sports Complex, 60 Fairview Ave. W., Essex. The cost of the class is $20 for one parent and up to two children and includes three take-home meals. Financial assistance is also available for families that qualify. Capacity is limited and spots will be given on a first-come, first-serve basis. Extension-Korda is hosting auditions its first show of 2018 season, Not Another High School Murder (An Unauthorized Riverdale/Heathers Parody). Auditions will be held December 11, 7-9:30pm and December 12, 7-8pm. Auditions will be by appointment. Email gemmaeva21@gmail.com for information and to book your audition. CASTING: Open casting for males and females 16-55 year of age. Come prepared with a 1 minute comedic monologue, 16 bars from a contemporary musical, and be ready to cold read. Experience in acting, singing, and dancing is recommended but not necessary. There will be a small ensemble of 5-6 people for this show.
