#545 - The Cornwall Police Service and emergency partners responded to the area of Montreal Road and Belmont Street on the morning of Monday, Aug. 10, 2026, regarding an individual in distress. Despite the efforts of emergency responders, the individual was pronounced deceased at the scene. “We recognize the impact an incident like this can have on our community, and we ask that everyone respect the privacy of those affected,” said Deputy Chief Chad Maxwell. The Special Investigations Unit (SIU) has been invoked and is investigating the circumstances surrounding the death.
