Please come and join a friendly group of amateur gardeners interested in learning more about all aspects of gardening.

This talk will focus on invasive species which are the second biggest threat to biodiversity loss (after habitat destruction), yet so many of them are grown on purpose in gardens. In this talk, Shaun will highlight some of the most common invasive plants in our gardens, why we should reconsider growing them and how we can replace them with native plants to provide habitat for beneficial wildlife.

Shaun Booth is on a mission to transform our gardens. After graduating from Fleming College and working with a conservation authority, Shaun founded In Our Nature, a natural garden design company and native plant nursery. His work emphasizes low-maintenance, ecologically beneficial landscapes that welcome nature back into our lives. As co-author of the Globe & Mail bestselling book, The Gardener’s Guide to Native Plants of the Southern Great Lakes Region, Shaun offers insights into the beauty and importance of native plants in our gardens.
