Please come and join a friendly group of amateur gardeners interested in learning more about all aspects of gardening.

Join Dave, “The Beekeeper” at “Backed by Bees”, for an engaging exploration of honey’s incredible legacy and the evolution of beekeeping. From the earliest depictions of honey hunters in ancient cave art to the development of the modern hive, Dave will guide us through millennia of honey’s journey through human history. He’ll reveal how beekeeping techniques evolved across cultures and continents, sharing his own experiences in the field to illustrate the essential role bees play today in ecosystems and agriculture. This talk is perfect for anyone curious about the timeless bond between humans and bees.To participate in the honey tasting a charge of $3 will be collected at the door.

Dave, "The Beekeeper," at “Backed by Bees” is a dedicated apiarist with years of hands-on experience. Known for his deep knowledge and engaging style, he brings the world of bees to life, blending practical insights with a passion for honey's cultural impact. Dave's talks reveal the intricate connections between bees, nature, and our daily lives.

Discover the realism of Ron Pearce, an award-winning London painter whose work has been showcased from Banff to New York. Alongside him, Susan Perry showcasing for the first time her exploration of colour in printmaking. A Petrolia artist and lifelong sketch-booker, Perry brings decades of dedication to her expressive relief prints. The exhibit opens Sept 13th with a reception from 11am-2pm and runs until Oct 25th. 2025 Fall Registration -  Sept 3rd & 10th at 6:30 pm (followed by rehearsals from 7:00 - 9:00)

Our Artistic Director is Madelyn Mensen
Our Collaborative Artist is Abe TeGrotenhuis

Adult membership dues are $100 per session (2 sessions per year)
No membership dues for STUDENTS

Rehearsals are Wednesdays starting at 7:00 pm 

at St. Lawrence Anglican Church, 80 Pine St.

All are welcome to attend for up to 3 rehearsals with no commitment
