Quinte Waste Solutions is pleased to announce the return of the Curbside Battery Collection program, running from March 10 to March 21, 2025. This initiative helps residents safely dispose of household batteries while ensuring they are properly recycled.

How to Participate:

  1. Collect old household batteries.
  2. Tape the terminals of all lithium, button cell, and rechargeable batteries to prevent fire hazards.
  3. Place all batteries in a resealable bag.
  4. On collection day, set the bag on top of your Papers Blue Box for pickup.

Residents are reminded that sealed lead acid batteries, encapsulated batteries (such as those found in flashlights and electric toothbrushes), and light bulbs are not accepted in this program. Please dispose of these items through appropriate recycling programs.

Outside of the designated collection dates, residents can bring their batteries and other hazardous waste to the Household Hazardous & Electronic Waste Depot (HEW Depot) in Belleville for safe disposal.

For additional details on this program or accepted items, visit www.quinterecycling.org.
