Following the generous support of the initial food drive on held on Sat. April 9th, a second Community Strong Food Drive is set in support of Loaves & Fishes and the Food Bank for Saturday May 9th from 11am to 1pm* with two new routes (1 west and 1 east) south of the 401. Both will be starting and finishing at Quickie Convenience location on the corner of Central and Ormond.

Items can also be dropped off at the radio station at 601 Stewart Blvd.
*A new date will be determined should there be rain or inclement weather.
Southbound Central Avenue is restricted to one lane south of E.C. Row Expressway due to road work on Deziel Drive and Rhodes Drive. The southbound right-turn lane on Central Avenue is also temporarily closed until Friday, May 8.
The appeal concerning the proposed Windsor mega-hospital and the development of its surrounding area will be proceeding to a hearing before the Divisional Court this coming Wednesday, May 6 at 10 a.m.
This hearing will be open to the public via YouTube or by telephone.
A link to the hearing live-stream will be available at www.windsormegahospital.ca on Wednesday morning.
The Citizens for an Accountable Mega-Hospital Planning Process (CAMPP) are asking the Court to allow five issues to be considered in detail at a future hearing:
- ensuring emergency services are properly located when the new hospital is built
- planning that properly considers climate change impacts
- the City’s obligation to consult with First Nations
- apparent unresolved conflicts in expert evidence
- the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic which could not have been considered when the new hospital was being planned.
Joe Callahan will be doing a one-hour live concert on Tuesday May from 3:00-4:00pm to help to raise money for the Prince Edward County Foundation. Foundation members anticipate a significant spike in demand for food as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. Donations can be made in a number of ways if you go to:

Performances Impacted
Dominion Boulevard will be closed between E.C. Row Expressway and Northwood Street for sewer work, road construction and hydro pole relocation. Northwood Street will also be closed from Longfellow Avenue to McKay Avenue beginning Wednesday, May 6 for 7 weeks.
Southbound Ojibway Parkway will have lane restrictions between G.N. Booth Drive and E.C. Row Expressway for manhole repair work from 8am on Tuesday, May 5, until 5pm on Wednesday, May 6.
