The purpose of The Sanctuary Course is to raise awareness and start conversations in local churches regarding mental health. It helps to develop tools, training, and resources that will enable the Church to be a sanctuary--a safe place for people suffering in their mental health. Over the course of 8 sessions, you will be introduced to research, resources, and language to help you reframe the subject of mental health as you look at it from the psychological, the social, and the theological perspectives.

Sunday, March 1, 10:30 AM - To celebrate [a slightly extended] Black History Month, the guest speaker at Westminster United Church’s time of worship and celebration will be Kimberly Simmons, author of the book “To the River”.   Come and meet Kimberly and bring along your friends to hear her speak, and to peruse her book detailing the remarkable journey of one of her ancestors, Caroline Quarlls, a Freedom Seeker on the Underground Railroad.
