Local residents, businesses, and schools are encouraged to plant native trees to help restore health to our urban environment. For only $5.00 each, the following native seedlings can be purchased: Eastern Hemlock, White Pine, Red Oak, Tulip, & Bitternut Hickory. Residents can pre-order 5 to 25 seedlings with prepayment at the MacBain Community Centre or the Gale Centre from April 1st-23rd.

The Park in the City Committee will celebrate Arbour Day with the Chippawa Lions Club, various students, and local volunteers who will help plant 50 native trees at Chippawa Lions Park. The location chosen was recently devastated by the Emerald Ash Borer. Thank you to the Rotary Club of Niagara Falls Sunrise, Niagara Peninsula Energy Inc. and Land Care Niagara for contributing.

In the Lower Hall of St. John's United Church, 32 Park Street, Brockville, on Saturday, March 16th, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. as well as Saturday, March 23 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., shop for antiques and collectibles, housewares, decorative items, furniture, records, CDs and DVDs, as well as delicious baked goods, fruit pies and assorted freshly baked cookies.

All proceeds go to Youth Opportunities in the Arts for the purpose of enhancing the education of the Arts in our local and surrounding area high schools.
