En août 2019, le Comité PÉR du Collège d'Alma accueillera un étudiant réfugié africain. Celui-ci étudiera au Collège d’Alma, et peut-être après à l’université, afin de pouvoir débuter une autre vie au Québec.
Le comité est formé de 6 étudiants du Collège d’Alma (tous anciens de Camille-Lavoie) et de 3 membres de la communauté almatoise qui assurera le parrainage de cet étudiant. Une somme de 21 000$ est nécessaire afin de satisfaire tous ses besoins. Une campagne de financement, dons d’entreprises et de personnes, a permis d’amasser jusqu’à maintenant 13 000$. Une activité-bénéfice est organisée afin d’ajouter à ces dons.

Community Event - Kingston - Free Climate Change Conference Sat. Feb. 9th, 2019
Join us on Sat. Feb. 9th from 9:30am to 5pm for a FREE informative, inspiring and empowering day that focuses on the context of climate change in Kingston, Ontario. Attendees will:
- have an opportunity to express climate change priorities
- hear a variety of perspectives on our current context and issues
- learn about key climate change contributors
- find out about what local champions and problem solvers are doing
- have a chance to ask questions of panelists
- meet local people making a positive change
- explore opportunities and resources available in Kingston
- have a chance to win door prizes

Community Event - Ottawa Valley - Come see Anne of Green Gables!
Come see Anne of Green Gables at Festival Hall this February! Performed by talented Ottawa Valley youths, this is a show for the whole family. There are five show dates: Saturday, February 2nd at 2:00PM; Sunday, February 3rd at 2:00PM; Thursday, February 7th at 7:00PM; Friday, February 8th at 7:00PM; and Saturday, February 9th at 2:00PM. Tickets are $25 for orchestra seats and $20 for balcony seats. Both prices are plus HST.
