Community Event - Chatham - Broke Holidays Event at CKPL
Low on cash this holiday season? Save some money by coming out to the Broke Holidays event on Thursday, December 6 at 7:00 pm. Broke Holidays is being held at Chatham Branch (120 Queen Street).
Participants at this crafty event will be able to make gifts that are pleasing to the eye and easy on the wallet; perfect for that special someone, or for that 3rd cousin who insists on getting you something every year.
Free supplies will be provided. Participants can make a bird seed or 8-bit ornament and a scrabble tile coaster. Registration is required and those 16 and older are welcome to attend. To register, visit search.ckpl.ca, call 519.354.2940 or come in to your local branch.
Community Event - Peterborough/Lindsay - Hutchison House Christmas Market
Tis the season for the annual Hutchison House Christmas Market! The sale will take place on Saturday, 24 November from 10am-12:30pm. Home baking, shortbread, fruit pies, jams, jellies and preserves will be featured, along with other special seasonal treats. Books, new to you items, fresh greenery and other gift items will also be available for sale. Award wining Empire Cheese can be ordered a head of time through museum. On offer is a variety of delicious specialty cheeses and gift baskets. Deadline for Cheese Orders are November 15th and will be available for pick up at the sale. Baked goods and new to you donations for the sale can be dropped off at the museum between Nov. 20 to Nov. 23. For more information, please call the museum office at 743-9710. Come dance away the afternoon to your favourite Motown tunes at a charity fundraiser for the University Hospitals Kingston Foundation – with all proceeds going to these two units providing critical services to residents of our community, from fragile newborns to those who have been diagnosed with cancer.
Heatwave Motown Dance Party

Sunday, November 18, from 1 to 5 pm.
Tickets are $20/adults, $10/students, children are free (with a paying adult). Music will feature the Motown tunes of local band Heatwave, as well as She Sings and Old Docs New Tricks.
There’s also an irresistible silent auction with items including a new children’s book and signed photograph donated by musician James Taylor, a signed children’s CD from singer Anne Murray, gift certificates to local restaurants including Le Chien Noir, AquaTerra and the Kingston Brewing Company, bakeries and businesses, passes to the top of the CN Tower, and a one night luxury stay at the Fairmont Royal York in Toronto.
