Tri-County Literacy Council invites individuals wishing to make a meaning contribution to our community, to register for an upcoming Tutor Training workshop.  In this 2-day workshop (October 11 and 18th, 1:30 to 4:30 p.m.), volunteers learn how to tutor adults with basic literacy needs.  Topics include:

  • characteristics of the adult learner
  • assessing learner needs
  • understanding the Learner's Training Plan Supplement
  • teaching strategies

The workshop is interactive and open to persons with the ability to train others.  A charge of $35.00 (tax-deductible) applies for training materials.   Registration and payment are required in advance.  To register call 613-932-7161.
