The Gift of Giving Back Weekend to donate at Fortinos (5111 New St, Burlington)
The Gift of Giving Back (GOGB), founded in 2005, is an opportunity to inspire, support, educate and empower children through local minor athletics associations and school systems to compassionately give back to the communities. The GOGB is the largest community food drive of its kind in Canada, with more than 4.6 million pounds of food raised and a direct community benefit of more than $14 million since its inception. We are making a real difference in the lives of those less fortunate in our community and teaches children the importance of giving back.
As part of our 2024 campaign, various Burlington Barracudas and Eagles hockey teams will be outside of the entrances at the Fortinos (Appleby Line & New St) handing out bags and collecting cash donations. Please help us feed those in need in Halton by filling a bag while you shop for your own groceries.
You may have already seen the iconic blue bags around the city or on your doorstep. The campaign will close on November 20 at Nelson High School.
