The Rotary Club of LaSalle Centennial is proud to partner with the Town of LaSalle to bring local families the fourth annual Movie Night Under the Stars on Friday, June 1, at dusk. Residents can bring their cars, blankets, or lawn chairs to the LaSalle Civic Centre at 5950 Malden Road. Space for cars is limited, and parking will be given on a first come first served basis. The movie being featured is “Despicable Me 3” (rated PG). BBQ and concession, including chips, popcorn, candy, and soft drinks, will be available for purchase.

Prior to the movie, families are welcome to participate in free activities, including Family Game Time at the LaSalle Library at 6:00 p.m., a Mad Science demonstration at 7:00 p.m. , sponsored by the LaSalle Branch of the Essex County Library, and face painting.

In lieu of financial donations, the Rotary Club of LaSalle Centennial is calling on all community members to bring canned goods to support the St. Andrew’s Community Food Bank. St. Andrew’s is LaSalle’s only food bank, which is accessed by over 70 families monthly. The local Rotary Club has been committed to supporting the local food bank and families in need through their Holiday Hope Baskets initiative.

This special event couldn’t be possible without the help of our financial sponsors: Cris Kambouris, Habib Homes, Coulson Design Build, Antonino’s Pizza LaSalle, Timberland Homes, and Joe Rauti Custom Homes

As the dream of a restored Belle Vue National Historic Site begins to materialize, the Town of Amherstburg is encouraging residents to attend one of two public consultation meetings to discuss and imagine its possibilities.

With phase 1 of its restoration underway, the public consultation meetings will be held to assess future opportunities, identify potential uses and solicit public input on proposed concepts for the renowned heritage site.

The consultation team, made up of various members including CAO John Miceli and tourism and culture manager Anne Rota, seeks public and stakeholder feedback regarding the site’s development. The public consultation meetings will take place on May 29, 6pm or June 5, 6pm at the Libro Centre, 3295 Meloche Rd (at Pike Road)

Citizen participation is also encouraged through the use of the Town’s online public engagement portal, “Talk the Burg.”

To submit written feedback for consideration regarding the Belle Vue restoration project, please contact: CAO Giovanni (John) Miceli (519)736-0012 ext 2228 jmiceli@amherstburg.ca
