Let’s walk, talk, fundraise and share in a magical night of light!
Join us for a 3k walk on October 24th for a magical night of light under the stars in support of urgently needed resources for women and children experiencing domestic violence.
All proceeds are directed to Hiatus House: A Place To Heal, so sign up today knowing you will be making a real difference. With your support, we can help light the way forward for so many women and children who are ready to take their first brave steps away from violence.

Together, with friends, family and neighbours, we will walk 3k through the streets of our community. It all starts at 6:15 p.m. at Willistead Park where we will gather to hear inspiring stories before we head out to walk a lantern-lit route lighting the way for women and children experiencing domestic violence in our community. The night's activies will also feature coffee and espresso, a light snack after the walk, Face Painting and a Clown/Balloon artist.
All participants receive a Royal LePage Shelter Foundation Night Light Walk Knit Hat and LED bracelet.

Curbside pick up meal – October 17th, 2024 - Sophiasburgh Town Hall
Prince Edward Community Care holds monthly curbside pick-up of meals. This event is on Thursday, October 17th, 2024, and the pickup location is at the Sophiasburgh Town Hall, 2771 County Road 5, Demorestville. Chef Bill Grieve of Wheelhouse and Occasions catering is preparing a scrumptious meal of homemade soup, a roll, roast beef, potatoes, seasonal vegetables, and fruit pie for dessert. The cost is $20.00/meal and seniors 60+ can order by calling the Community Care office at 613-476-7493. All meals must be paid for in advance. Meals will be packaged hot and ready to be picked up at the Sophiasburgh Town Halll. Only those who preorder and pay will be served. To order, or for more information, call 613-476-7493. Delivery can be arranged for seniors who require it. Orders will be taken until Friday, October 11th, 2024. www.communitycareforseniors.org
Community Event - Kingston - Canadian Walk for Veterans Sun Sept 22
Join Canadian Walk for Veterans, hosted by the Kingston Military Family Resource Centre and supported by the Order of St. George, Kingston Priory and Royal Canadian Legion, Limestone City Branch 560. The starting point for the walk will be the KMFRC at 32 Lundy’s Lane, and the event will take place from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. This milestone event strives to raise awareness and honour our Canadian military, Veterans and their families. Kingstonians are invited to walk ‘Shoulder to Shoulder’ and show their support.

The day’s festivities will include dignitary guest speakers, face painting, live music by Music Healing Veterans, a free BBQ, plus drinks and free coffee, the PWOR Piper and Drummer, the RCL 560 Colour Party, Barrack the Bear, and, of course, walking shoulder to shoulder with your fellow Canadians.

There will be a variety of vendors so you might find the right gift! There will also be a bake table so you can grab some sweet treats for your gatherings.
