Learn about and paint in the style of Maud Lewis, a celebrated Canadian folk artist!
Come and get creative with us - making your own Maud inspired artwork on a wooden panel ready to hang and display.
Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned artist, enjoy a fun and relaxing evening making art, connecting with others, and being inspired by Maud Lewis’ story and creations.

Community Event - Chatham - Dawn Teetzel Author Talk and Book Signing
Join Dawn Beecroft Teetzel for an author talk and book signing!
Teetzel is a writer and poet, a retired farmer and shepherd, and a spinner of tales and wool. Her book ‘My Mary’ draws attention to The Barnardo Foundation, and the children they sent to Canada. Her husband’s grandmother was one of them. She is compelled to tell her story in hopes to raise awareness for these often-forgotten children.

Community Event - Chatham - Free T.R.E.E.S Trail Nature Walk and Presentation
Starting from The Centre, Dianne Flook, a dedicated volunteer from the Chatham-Kent Trail Council, will give a quick presentation on exploring trails across Chatham-Kent.
Members can then drive to the Marsh St. entrance of the TREES trial to join volunteer Paul Brown who will lead the 2.2 km walk starting at 9:30. The option to bike the trail is available if you prefer and are familiar with it.
For a longer walk, you can complete an additional lap of the trail or continue exploring independently.

Community Event - Chatham - Free Hearing Health Presentation on July 10 @ 10am
Participants will explore ear anatomy, hearing assessments, current research, treatment options for hearing loss, and the connection between hearing loss and the brain in this presentation. A discussion and Q&A will follow.
Presenter & Audiologist, Brian Field, graduated from the school of Audiology at the University of Western Ontario in 1981.

Community Event - Niagara - Ride Like A Girl Day - Free mountain biking event
Free! The Sunflowers Cycling Club is inviting women and girls (age 11+) to come on out and give mountain biking a try. We'll have 5 riding levels, including one for beginners. After the ride, join us in the park for some snacks and a chance to mingle. Don't have a bike? Contact Niagara Ski and Cycle to rent one for the evening.
Community Event - Niagara - Rock 4 Paws benefit concert is back Aug 10
"Ruckus" will once again take the stage to benefit the Niagara SPCA & Humane Society with the Rock 4 Paws benefit concert on August 10th. The event this year will be held at the Whiskey and Walleye in Port Colborne. Tickets are only $5 and seating is limited so feel free to bring your own lawn chair. The event will feature prize draws, 50/50, and a penny sale. The doors open at 6:30 with "Nostalgia" taking the stage at 7 followed by "Ruckus" at 8pm.
Community Event - Peterborough/Lindsay - Scottish Tea at Hutchison House Museum
Celebrate the summer season with the start of our Scottish Tea Season on Tuesday, July 2nd 2024. Scottish Teas will continue every Tuesday- Saturday until August 31, 2024 from 1-4 pm.
Scottish Tea, served on the terrace in the period garden, includes fresh baked scones, preserves, whipped cream, oatcakes, and tea, lemonade, or ice tea. Complimentary tours of the 1840s restored stone house are included with the teas. The cost for tea is $12.00 for adults and youth, $8.00 for children under 10 years of age, children under 5 are free. Registration is required if you are a group of more than four. This year Hutchison House Museum would like to give a big Thank You to LLF Lawyers for sponsoring our Scottish Tea program.
