The Volunteer Halton Youth Engagement Research Team is doing research to understand the facilitators and barriers to volunteerism and civic engagement among youth aged 14 to 24 in the City of Burlington.

Led by a team of 10 youth, the Youth Engagement Research Team wants to know more about what young people are looking for in terms of volunteering and what might get in the way of a positive volunteering experience. We are collecting feedback from the youth that live and/or attend school in Burlington because we believe that their voices should be heard in matters that pertain to them, and that includes volunteering and community service!

As of August 22 we are at 350 surveys!

PLEASE HELP US REACH AS MANY YOUTH AS POSSIBLE BY SHARING THIS EMAIL AND/OR THE SURVEY LINK WITH

Community Event - Niagara - EDMUND FITZGERALD 50TH ANNIVERSARY TRIBUTE

We’re honoured to bring the songs of Gordon Lightfoot to the Meridian Centre for the Arts in Fort Erie this fall.

This special performance will pay tribute to the 50th anniversary of the Edmund Fitzgerald, the Great Lakes freighter that tragically sank on November 10, 1975, claiming the lives of all 29 crew members. The storm that night produced 35-foot waves and 60 mph winds, overwhelming the ship and leaving no survivors. Moved by the story, Gordon Lightfoot went on to write "The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald"—a deeply emotional ballad that remains a defining part of his legacy. Join us as we honour the memory of the crew and the legacy of Lightfoot's timeless tribute. TICKETS ON SALE NOW FROM:  WWW.CLASSICLIGHTFOOTLIVE.COM/fort-erie-tickets-october-2025. Sat. Oct 4, 2025 at 6.00 PM. Meridian Centre for the Arts. 1640 Garrison Rd., Fort Erie ON.
