September 29th,2021, PEC Community Care for Seniors has announced that the 2021 Seniors Active Living Fair is a FREE virtual event. Local businesses and organizations will be presenting 1 hour Zoom Webinars every Tuesday and Wednesday from 1-2pm. All seniors who participate will receive a free “Swag Bag” from Community Care and the presenters filled with great stuff and including pamphlets and information flyers. “Door Prizes” will be drawn at each webinar and one of the participants will win. Adult  Learning and Training Center  is offering "Getting Ahead in a Just Gettin'-By World" an incredible FREE 13-session program that encourages participants to build resources and create a plan for getting out of poverty and "Getting Ahead." Through activities and group discussions, we investigate:

Causes of poverty. Hidden rules we all need to know. Resources to improve life situations. Strategies for writing our own future story.

With "Getting Ahead," no one teaches. Instead, we learn from one another by sharing our experiences, participating in problem- solving discussions and exploring ways to strengthen our community by helping people to move out of poverty.

Consider taking this step-by-step journey toward your future story. Two start dates , two locations. Smiths Falls Tuesday September 21st, Perth Wednesday September 22nd. Transportation available, meal provided.

In partnership with Ontrac, The Perth Community Food Table, The Salvation Army, Lanark Transportation.
