Italy has been an inspiration for the arts since the days of ancient Rome. This collection of Italian music spanning four centuries is no exception. Ottorino Respighi was inspired by the great painter, Sondro Botticelli. Russian composer, Igor Stravinsky, was inspired by music wrongly attributed to Neapolitan composer Pergolesi. No matter, regardless of the musical inspiration, Stravinsky’s Pulcinella has all the sunshine and love we associate with Italian music.
