Community Event - Belleville - On-line with Orland: Historical Sites in Hastings

The back roads of Hastings County are sprinkled with historic sites, if only you knew how to reach them. Fortunately, the Hastings County Historical Society has created an on-line guidance system to show you the way. Orland French, the Society's “historic sites man”, will present an illustrated on-line discussion on at 3 p.m., Tuesday June 29 to lure you into the deepest recesses of Hastings County. His talk will feature descriptions of road trips into Hastings County in search of historic plaques.

The Sarnia Canada Day Committee and the Rotary Club of Sarnia Bluewaterland have joined together to raise spirits by asking residents to buy "Unapologetically Canadian" lawn signs to celebrate our Canadianism.  Profits of the event will be shared equally.

This dinner to produces charitable donations for projects of the Rotary Club of Sarnia Bluewaterland.  The dinner is prepared by the chefs of the Sarnia Golf and Curling Club and moved to trunks of cars by Rotarians. Purchasers of the dinner receive a 25$ tax deductible receipt per order.

Is seeking public input regarding current municipal communications, which range from tenders to employment opportunities, snow plowing and a wide variety of other subject matter. The Town is working with The Letter M, an agency specializing in effective communications techniques, to develop a plan to ensure that the community is receiving information in an efficient and effective manner. Input from full-time and seasonal residents, as well as local business leaders, is vital to the success of this project. The survey is now live on EngageBracebridge.ca.

If you wish to participate, but require a hard copy, please call the Town Office at (705) 645-5264 to arrange for the pickup of a hardcopy of the survey. The survey will be open until June 8, 2021. Following this public consultation process, the Town will use the feedback collected and continue to work with The Letter M to develop the Communications Plan, with a final report anticipated to be presented to Council in July, 2021.
