The COVID-19 pandemic has had tremendous impacts on local, national, and global economies. It is anticipated that in Burlington alone, just under 2,000 businesses and 29,000 jobs may be directly affected, leaving the future state of Burlington's economy uncertain.
Join us for one of the Burlington Chamber's most popular and informative events of the year. Craig Wright, Senior Vice-President & Chief Economist, will take the audience through the financial indicators for Canada and Burlington for 2021.

As chief economist, Craig leads a team of economists providing economic, fixed income and foreign exchange research to RBC clients. Craig is a regular contributor to a number of RBC publications and is a key player in delivering economic analysis to clients and the media through the Economics Department's regular economic briefings.
A graduate of Wilfrid Laurier University and the University of Toronto, Craig was appointed Chief Economist in 2021 having joined RBC in 1994 after working at another financial institution for seven years. Craig is a participant in a number of the key RBC internal committees and is a member of the CD Howe Monetary Policy Council, Lazaridis School of Business and Economics, Wilfrid Laurier University, Dean's Advisory Council and the British Columbia Economic Forecast Council.
Craig and his wife Susan live in Toronto with their three children Emily, Bradley and Jacob.
Each year, the Burlington Chamber of Commerce hosts the annual Mayor's Luncheon to highlight our wonderful City and enjoy a dose of inspiration from a featured speaker. At the 2020 Mayor's Luncheon, Mayor Meed Ward and our President & CEO, Carla Y. Nell will reflect on this past year while highlighting our community and the resiliency, adaption, partnership, and generosity we have seen despite the challenges that have been brought on by the pandemic.
This crisis has shown us that we are stronger together and can conquer through collaboration and compassion. Our residents and business leaders have stepped up to find innovative and creative ways to support our community, and we want to celebrate together!
This event is being offered FREE to all our members, non-members, friends, and family thanks to the generous support of our 2020 Mayor's Luncheon Sponsors.
As we approach the Holidays, knowing this year may look different for you, your team and families, we encourage you to shop local this season and continue to support our local business community. Join us for a dose of holiday cheer, reflection, inspiration and some last minute gift ideas! Visit our Member Directory to purchase local goods and services.
The Mayor's Luncheon typically includes lunch with each ticket. Due to the current COVID-19 limitations and our inability to host this event in person, we encourage you to order take out from one of our Chamber member restaurants who could use your love and support!
It hurts to lose someone. GriefShare- Surviving the Holidays is for people grieving the death of a family member or friend.

Bittersweet memories. Loss of traditions. An empty seat at the table. The holiday season can trigger sadness and despair for people grieving a loss. Join us for a 1.5 hour online event called Surviving the Holidays where we talk about how to deal with grief around the holiday season, how to prepare for the holidays, and even discover hope for the future.
