Experience The Canadian Canoe Museum from the comfort of your home with our new virtual tours! With lots of opportunities for Q&A, our virtual tours offer a uniquely intimate and interactive experience of our world-class collection.

Thursday, November 19th at 7pm: Artisan & Industry

Why did the small town of Peterborough, Ontario become a wooden canoe building hub of world renown? What were the building techniques and innovations that drove the new leisure market for canoes? How did the factory change the canoe from its Indigenous and artisanal origins?

Join Curator Jeremy Ward for a live virtual tour of our Artisan and Industry gallery, featuring hands-on building demos, rare artifacts and iconic wooden canoes, and a Q&A.

Seniors (age 65+) living in Peterborough City or County can attend our virtual tours for FREE thanks to funding from the Government of Canada's COVID-19 Community Support Fund through the United Way. For non-seniors, tickets are $15 and support the work of the museum and care of our collection.
