During the week of September 14th - 20th, the YMCA of Central East Ontario is asking everyone to get out and buy Tim Hortons Smile Cookies! All proceeds from Smile Cookies sold at Tim Hortons locations in Peterborough, Lakefield, Bridgenorth will provide financial support to local children and families so they may access YMCA membership, programming, lessons and camp, regardless of their financial situation. 

The COVID-19 pandemic has drastically impacted many families. Please help the YMCA support our community by purchasing Smile Cookies!

Tri-County Literacy Council is happy to offer a new program called “Online Interviews”, as part of its virtual training series. Learn how to participate in a Zoom meeting and prepare for a virtual job interview, so that you can comfortably focus on the conversation during the actual interview. This program will help you gain confidence when it comes to:

•    using your computer’s audio/video equipment, 
•    setting up your interview environment,
•    seeing yourself and speaking on camera, 
•    using basic Zoom features, and
•    avoiding mistakes.

You will also benefit from reviewing good job interviewing practices and meeting a partnering employment resource centre representative.

This online course is taught via Zoom (videotelephony and online chat service). If you have access to a computer (with camera and microphone), an Internet connection, email address, and basic computer skills, this training is for you.

Class runs Monday to Thursday 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. for 2 weeks, starting Monday, October 5th.  For more information or to register, call Tri-County Literacy Council at 613-932-7161.
