"Bottle Drive for Grey's"

Our mission is to collect as many bottles as possible throughout the Niagara Region in suppprt of our residents at Grey's Haven Farm Sanctuary.

We accept beer bottles, beer cans, wine bottles, and liquor bottles so start digging through the basement and garage because every bottle counts!!

The safety of our volunteers and visitors is our priority. Here's what to do when you are dropping off your bottles. Please remain in your car, have the trunk open, and our volunteers will remove the bottles. We are using gloves, hand sanitizer, hand washing, and physical distancing.

If you have any questions you may contact us at ghfsfundraising@gmail.com

Thank you for your support!

Public Notices/Announcements - Windsor/Leamington - Flooding Updates: City Asks for 61-Metre Boat Ban

The City of Windsor continues to look for ways to protect homeowners from flooding, both overland along the riverfront due to high water levels and in basements during heavy downpours.

Last year, the Windsor Port Authority enacted a 30-metre buffer zone for boats in the Detroit River moving along Windsor’s shoreline. After further consultation, the Windsor Port Authority will now expand that buffer to 61 metres, and it will be enforced by the Windsor Police Marine Unit in an attempt to limit boat wakes and soil erosion as much as possible.

As well, emergency preparedness staff have consolidated a wealth of flood related content into one printable and searchable document. The Residential Guide to Flood Prevention and Recovery can be found in the Emergency Preparedness section of the City of Windsor website.  Along with the information found on a number of informative web pages, including our Lake and River Flooding and Basement Flooding pages (see links below), this guide is an excellent resource for residents to use.

“As everyone knows, the City is spending record amounts on infrastructure upgrades, but that doesn’t mean we should stop looking for other ways to be prepared as well,” said Windsor Mayor Drew Dilkens. “The City of Windsor appreciates the increased buffer by the Windsor Port Authority along the shoreline, which along with this consolidated guide are two more ways we can prepare for and protect against flooding.”
