Join moderator John Armstrong, and have your say, as we discuss democracy, governance and how a growing Niagara can reinvent itself to better reflect its citizens, their interests and their needs. Panelists include: author and community organizer Dave Meslin, whose book Teardown: Rebuilding Democracy from the Ground Up, explores how to raise our expectations and re-imagine a new democracy and Liz Benneian, a Director with A Better Niagara, a citizen’s coalition dedicated to better local governance and citizen engagement.
About the panelists:
Dave Meslin is a community activist who inspires better engagement between government and citizens. His TED Talk about apathy has more than 1.7 million views. He has been called a “wizard,” a “mastermind,” and “the ultimate ideas guy.”
Vineland resident Liz Benneian is a Director with A Better Niagara, the citizen’s coalition dedicated to better local governance and citizen engagement. Over the past 16 years, Liz has organized many successful citizen-led campaigns and worked with groups around the Province, teaching them how to Organize To Win.
Price: $30* per session in advance - if you want to register in advance but pay at the door, you must pre-register for the session no later than 4 pm on the day of the event. There is no guarantee of seats if you don't, as capacity is limited.

L’expo Vintage se veut un nouveau concept d’expo ou l’on réunit en même temps et sur un seul et même site, tout ce qui est relié à notre patrimoine de près ou de loin. Soit notre histoire, nos coutumes, nos anciennes manières de faire, en fait tout ce qui englobe notre patrimoine culturelle, religieux, industrielle, et agricole Estrien, Québécois, Canadien, anglophone et francophone.
Basé sur ce concept, nous voulons réunir l’espace d’une fin de semaine, en un seul site, soit sur le terrain du Club Aramis de Magog, toutes les intervenants et intervenantes, commerçant, artisans, exposants, collectionneurs, antiquaires, de tout ce qui est vieux, antique, vintage, fait à la main, recyclé, « vert », « santé », « naturel » « bio », produits du terroir, éco-responsable, renouvelable, retravaillé, etc...
Le but étant de présenter tous ces intervenant dans un contexte rural en y ajoutant plusieurs types d’animation créant une ambiance bien précise afin de recréer l’époque de la fin du 19ieme et début 20ieme siècle en ajoutant musique et gens en costumes d’époque sur tout le site.
