The December meeting of Leeds & Grenville Branch of the Ontario Genealogical Society will be held on Monday December 9that 7:30 pm at the Brockville Museum. Paul Cote will discuss his recent book Sheatown: A Vanished Irish Catholic Community in Protestant Yonge Township, Leeds County.The focus of the presentation will be on the families that settled in the Sheatown area, and how they developed a vibrant community in what today is considered inhospitable wilderness.

The Germania Club of Pembroke is holding its 22nd annual Christkindlmarkt, which is a German-style Christmas market, at its hall at 15 Bennett Street, Pembroke, November 29 to December 1. It begins on Friday, November 29, at 1 p.m., with the first hour dedicated to seniors and others with mobility challenges. It's open to the general public from 2 to 8 p.m. on the 29th, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the 30th, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on December 1. Arts, crafts, food by Schmidt's, imports, activities for children. The Date is Set- Time to Start your Science Fair Project
On April 18, 2020, the 60th Quinte Regional Science and Technology Fair will take place at Loyalist College. The youth of the Quinte area will once again demonstrate their scientific research. Public viewing will be from 11:30 to 2:30. Come and see the great projects. Participants in the Quinte area grades 4-12, will be displaying their projects and competing for award money, medals and scholarships as well. We are always looking for Judges and Volunteers to help out.
