Join Hospice Quinte for the 2019 Hike for Hospice on Saturday, September 14, 2019 at Centennial Park in Quinte West!

This family-friendly event rallies together individuals from across the Quinte region to participate in a 2.5km or 5km walk or run, and to help raise funds for the professional and compassionate end-of-life and bereavement support services that Hospice Quinte provides to the residents of our community.

Executive Director Jennifer May-Anderson says, “The Hike for Hospice is more than just a fundraising event for us. The Hike is an annual celebration of life for our loved ones who’ve passed, and an opportunity to shine a spotlight on hospice palliative care and how Hospice Quinte serves the people of our community.”

Participants are invited to register for the 2019 Hike for Hospice with family, friends or as an individual. Furry friends are welcome to join the fun too, but please be sure to clean up after your pals! There will be plenty for Hikers to enjoy, including hot coffee from Tim Horton’s, refreshing Culligan water, the acoustic tunes of Little Red Wagon and a Boston Pizza lunch following the Hike!

Each Hiker is challenged to raise a minimum of $100 in pledges; prizes will be awarded for 1st and 2nd place pledges raised. Registration is $25/ per Hiker. The registration fee will be waived for Hikers who raise $100 or more in pledges.

Register on-site on the day of the Hike or online today. For complete Hike details, please visit the Hospice Quinte website

QUINTE FILM ALTERNATIVE (QFA) presents Great Movie Wednesdays' 23rd year and opens on September 11 with Red Joan. Academy Award winner Judi Dench and Sophie Cookson take on the complex persona and legacy of Joan Stanley, the seemingly demure physicist who was also a long-serving British spy for the KGB. Red Joan reminds us that spies aren’t always shadowy, nefarious figures. Sometimes, they are the old lady next door. Then on September 25: Papi Chulo directed by John Butler is followed by Le Grand Bain, October 9.

Matinees at 2:00pm; evenings at 7:30pm. Single tickets at the The Empire box office or full season memberships offer up to 40% off single ticket prices. More info:(www.quintefilmalternative.ca)
