Cosplay contests, 501st Legion, 4152 Hoya Robotics (and Lego Robotics) demonstrations by HHS students, special guests, photo ops in Captain Kirk’s chair, toy and game vendors, food by Pulled Smokehouse and Auntie Em’s Donuts — hosted by the The USS Nomad NCC 72382, Muskoka’s Star Trek fan club!

Community Event - Kingston - Baroque Celebration

The Kingston Baroque Consort presents “Baroque Celebration” on Friday 28 March, 5:15pm, at St. James Church (10 Union St, Kingston), featuring well-known works by J.S. Bach and G.F. Handel. The program will feature Handel’s Fireworks Music (including Baroque trumpets and horns for the  spectacular “Grand Overture of warlike instruments”) and Bach’s 2nd Orchestral Suite.

Tickets cost $25 (Adults), $10 (Students), and free for under 17, and are available at Novel Idea (156 Princess St) or by emailing/calling legerek@queensu.ca, 613-217-5099.  Visit kingstonbaroqueconsort.ca.

The Kingston Baroque Consort was founded in 2021 as an orchestra devoted to historically informed practice of music from the Baroque era. Founded by Katie Legere, Jeff Hamacher, Julia McFarlane, and Michael Capon, the KBC is a collective of professional musicians drawn from the Kingston Symphony Orchestra and the wider community.

St. Francis de Sales Knights of Columbus Council are back to serving their next delicious Community Family Breakfast on Sunday, January 26th in the St. Francis de Sales Parish Hall (434 Second St. W.) from 8:30am to 12pm. Complete breakfast including bacon, sausages, eggs any style, beans, home fries and beverage. All are welcome. Fully accessible venue with elevator service provided.

 

These Community Family Breakfasts are held to raise funds in support of the Knights of Columbus Council's charitable programs in the Cornwall community.
