Project SHARE is hosting our annual Travelling Tapas fundraiser event on October 21st. This event will take place between 11:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. and will include trips to Weinkeller, Frontier BBQ and Smokehouse, Taps, and Vittorio's, as well as dessert from Portage Bakery. Transportation will be provided between each location. All together this event only costs $55, with proceeds going to support Project SHARE clients as the winter months quickly approach.

Kingston's semi- retired Assistant Professor of Pediatrics and Oncology at Queen's University; Dr. Michael Hefferon will be discussing his book, Of Plagues and Vampires at the Brockville Public Library at 2 p.m., on Saturday, October 27.

Hear about the many myths, believable or factual and the role they play in medicine.

Questions such as did Vampires really exist? Is a gluten-free diet good for us? Can wearing sunscreen really protect us from skin cancer?

Learn more about the 33 medical myths which have been explored.

Currently, Of Plagues and Vampires copies are for sale at the Library for the entire month of October.

This speaking engagement is free to the public.

Two one act Comedies, "Theft of the Venetian Nude with the Spider Monkey in the Foreground" by Canadian authors Mat Kelly and Vic Bakker an attractive Italian seductress is accused of being an art thief. A rookie Canadian Journalist is out to find out if she actually stole the painting. Produced by Bruce Manzer and Dan Youmelle and Directed by Dan Youmelle featuring Bethany Lynn Krebs and Steven Torrance. "Talking Carrot at the End of Act One" by Mat Kelly Directed by Nikaiataa (Nik) Sidders featuring Cameron Brunet, Ashley Harper, Fefferson Harper and Christopher McGillis. An author is working on his next play and is having issues with his muse who thinks he should be writing a comedy and not a drama. Both plays are comedies.
