Join the Canadian Mental Health Association, Windsor-Essex County Branch on June 24 as we Ride with thousands of other participants coast-to-coast in our 5th annual Ride Don't Hide event. This event is a ride, not a race and features distances suitable for every age and fitness level, including 10k, 20k, 50k and 100k lengths!

Participants will enjoy a light breakfast, rider gift bag, pre-ride warm-up and post-ride lunch, entertainment and prizes. Registration is now open!

Held at the prestigious Essex Golf & Country Club, the tournament features 18 holes of golf with cart, pizza upon arrival, great golfer gifts, lunch at the turn, great pick-a-square prizes, entertainment and dinner.

Meet the Author: Claire Smith – “Falling into Now: Memories of Sport, Traumatic Brain Injury and Education.”

Saturday, Feb. 17 at 2 pm at the Brockville Public Library. A Friends of the Brockville Public Library event.

When a life-changing injury forces her to relinquish her equestrian identity, Claire Smith embarks on a journey of healing, recovery, and reinvention. Claire sits on the board of the Brockville YMCA and was previously a board member of the Wings of Phoenix, an Ottawa charity. In June 2018, she will become a director of the Board of the Ontario Brain Injury Association.

The inaugural Breakfast of Champions speaker series brings engaging, thought provoking speakers to Windsor-Essex to explore mental health and wellness in today’s society, to bring greater awareness and understanding, and to support the programs and services of the Canadian Mental Health Association, Windsor-Essex County Branch.

Sue Klebold is the mother of Dylan Klebold, one of the two shooters at Columbine High School--a tragedy that saddened and galvanized a nation. She has spent the last 15 years excavating every detail of her family life, and trying to understand the crucial intersection between mental health problems and violence. Instead of becoming paralyzed by her grief and remorse, she has become a passionate and effective agent working tirelessly to advance mental health awareness and intervention.
