Be Your Own Super Hero Camp at the Niagara Safety Village!
Camp runs Monday to Friday, 9 am to 4 pm. $150 per child.
July 9 - 13 for ages 8 to 10
July 16 - 20 for ages 11 to 13

August 13 - 17 for ages 8 to 10
August 20 - 24 for ages 11 to 13
Children will be learning about fire safety, bike and helmet safety and more!

Community Event - Kingston - Annual Plant Sale ~ Collins Bay Horticultural Club
A variety of perennials, annuals and houseplants, including vegetables and herbs lovingly nurtured by the members of the Collins Bay & District Horticultural Society. With 50+ avid gardeners, we bring a diverse selection from our own gardens and are present at the sale to help you select the plants best suited to your environment.
We have seeds for sale, collected from member plants. There will also be some gently used garden tools and accessories available for purchase.
Fresh baking and light refreshments are available for purchase as well as local Honey produced by one of our members.
Payment by cash. Feel free to bring a box/bag to carry your plants home in.

On Sunday May 27th, 9am Windsor’s TELUS Motorcycle Ride For Dad will start our engine's in the fight to cure prostate cancer and bring awareness to this terrible disease. We will start with opening ceremonies and kickstands will go up at 10AM. We invite you all down to show how our community comes together to help one another and raise funds for a great cause.
We hope you stay and witness all the amazing activities we will have throughout the day as well.
The Festival Plaza site, Sunday May 27th, will be open from 10am to the general public and will have many family friendly activities. Some of these activities include:
A Kids Zone with:
*Bouncy obstacle course,
*Giant Jenga
*Students from the University will be onsite teaching kids about cancer through crafts
*We will have a Belle Isle Grand Prix Indy Car onsite for photo opportunities
*A Whirlwind Drag Bike, a Suzuki GSXR 1000
*Thunder Road will have their Jump-Start Ride Simulator for those adventurous in the crowd.
*We will also have a wide variety of local vendors, with wares for purchase
*Lunch and beverages for all ages will also be available for purchase.
The CoOL Road Crew and Windsor's Country Summer Fun Squad will be on site all day, broadcasting live as well as doing giveaways and chances to WIN CoOL prizes & much more!

Rideau Paddlefest Activities
- Voyageur Canoe Racing 200m 9-12 noon and 500 m 1-3 pm.**
- Free Family Racing noon to 1 pm.
- Free Voyageur Canoe tours with Parks Canada Interpreters
- Other on Water activities, e.g. SUP and kayak demo
On land activities include:
- Canadian Museum of Nature – on site mini workshop lead by professional scientists
- Canadian Canoe Museum – activities and display
- Rideau Roundtable – amphibian display and activities
- Friends of the Rideau, display and activities.
- Ottawa River Keeper,Triclosan Awareness Champion,Children’s activities and WaterStation
- The Paddling Puppeteer and Activities presented by Camp Kawartha – musical puppet show about the cultural and natural history of Ontario’s waterways, and a message about how we can all be water stewards. - Master Canoe Builder, Chuck Commanda, will be bringing a full size birchbark canoe for display/demonstration at Paddlefest. He will also lead a workshop for adults and youth (10 and up) to learn how to make miniature birchbark canoes,sewn from birchbark. Workshop participants first-come first served, up to 20 can be accommodated, approximately 1.5-2 hours to create your own miniature birchbark canoe.
- The Algonquins of Pikwakanagan will be providing cultural displays and activities.
We also have special presentations on
- How to Effectively Fight Climate Change at 10 a.m. – including carbon pricing, phasing out natural gas, switching to electric vehicles and personal actions.
- Paddle Smart program by Paddle Canada at 11 a.m. -an educational prevention program with hands on interactive activities focuses on trip planning, training and essentials for safety and fun on the water.

Public Notices/Announcements - Windsor/Leamington - Town of Essex - Canadian Tire Jumpstart Day
June is Canadian Tire Jumpstart month and the Town of Essex is celebrating! Join us for a free Jumpstart event on Sunday, June 3 at the Essex Recreation Complex from 11:00am until 2:30pm.
The event will feature a free recreational swim from 1:00-2:30pm, sponsored by the Healthy Kids Community Challenge. Participants can also enjoy a bouncy castle and inflatables as well as a BBQ lunch and bake sale, with all proceeds going to Jumpstart.
The Jumpstart charity provides funding for families in need to participate in sport and recreation programs in the municipality.
“Jumpstart has had incredible success in making sports and recreation accessible to all,” said Assistant Manager of Programs, Jason Jolicouer. “This event will celebrate the impact the charity has had both in our community and across the country”
Jolicouer added that the event will also give participants the chance to learn about the upcoming Clubhouse Summer Day Camp. Kids will even get a sneak peek into the games and activities the camp will feature.
Since its inception, Canadian Tire Jumpstart has helped 726 kids in the Essex Chapter, distributing over $70,000. People looking to make a donation can visit jumpstart.canadiantire.ca

The City of Windsor is hosting a fundraising movie night for Canadian Tire Jumpstart Charities at the Malden Park Visitor Centre, 4200 Malden Rd. on May 27, 6pm.
The feature presentation will be the kids' baseball classic, The Sandlot. Minimum donation of $2 per person is requested, and all proceeds go toward helping local families connect with recreation via the Windsor Chapter of Jumpstart.
Seating will be provided under the covered outdoor pavilion, and snack and drinks will be available for purchase.
