The World Day of Prayer will be celebrated at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church on Friday, March 2 at 2 p.m.

This ecumencial, worldwide service was written by the women of Suriname, a South American country on the north shore of the Atlantic.

Its theme is "All God's Creation is Very Good".  The service is followed by fellowship and refreshments. All are welcome.

The motto of the World Day of Prayer movement is Informed Prayer and Prayerful Action.

In Canada, it is organized by the Women’s Inter-Church Council of Canada, WICC, an independent organization of Canadian Christian Women committed to ecumenism, women’s spiritual growth, social justice and women’s issues.  Offerings received provide grants for projects in Canada and throughout the world.

The first Day of Prayer began in 1920 and two years later became the World Day of Prayer.  The day of prayer is now celebrated in 170 countries around the world.

1st & 3rd Tuesdays of February at Essex Senior Centre, 32 Russell St, Essex from 7pm to 10pm. Bring your favourite Pickin' instrument and come on out.

February is Heart Health month. Come join us for an afternoon of some delicious desserts that support a heart healthy life. Light food samples will be included.

A two-part program presented by Twin Bridges NPLC to look at the model of self-compassion and provide practical skills to develop emotional resilience. The sessions include a combination of information, introspective activities and group discussion.

L’événement familial se déroulera le samedi 3 février, de 18 h à 21 h, ainsi que le dimanche 4 février, de 11 h à 16 h, au parc Les Salines. Sur place, il y aura une aire de restauration extérieure avec la présence de camions de cuisine de rue.
Le samedi, les festivités débuteront en soirée avec du Zumba afin de bien se réchauffer ainsi qu’une partie d’improvisation et d’atelier avec la Ligue d’amateurs d’improvisation théâtrale (LAIT). La soirée se poursuivra sur la musique endiablée de la DJ Abeille Gélinas. Pour conclure, il faudra lever les yeux vers le ciel pour admirer le feu d’artifice musical de Royal Pyrotechnie.
Le dimanche, les activités se dérouleront en continu de 11 h à 16 h. Les plus jeunes pourront faire un tour de carrousel, rencontrer les mascottes, se faire maquiller et se laisser emporter par l’animation d’un conte. Les plus courageux essayeront le gyrotron (manège avec effet centrifuge) et la Via Ferretta (escalade en paroi rocheuse) en plus de participer à des duels de chevaliers. En famille, vous pourrez bouger avec le Studio Hypnoze, déguster des collations nutritives et participer à de nombreuses activités sportives avec le Délire d’hiver présenté par le Moulin à vent.
Durant les heures d’activités, sur présentation d’une carte d’identité, le prêt d’équipement sera gratuit. Le samedi, de 18 h à 21 h, ça sera les tubes seulement. Tandis que le dimanche, il y aura en plus les patins, les luges, les skis de fond et les raquettes. C’est l’occasion de découvrir plusieurs sports.
Le parc Les Salines est situé au 5330, rue Martineau. Un système de navettes est disponible, aux 20 minutes, le samedi 3 février de 17 h 30 à 22 h. L’embarquement se fait au Centre aquatique Desjardins (850, rue Turcot).
