A event for people, families, friends, professionals – anyone interested in learning what people living with disabilities have done to: create affordable, accessible, individualized home options and a meaningful, everyday life after high school. Examples include: visioning to taking a first step; getting started with a plan and then changing things along the way; renovating, purchasing and/or renting; having active and valued roles in the neighbourhood and community.
What does it take? It takes: partners and professionals from independent facilitators to local service providers; government programs to private contractors; the use of technology. And most importantly – it takes: friends, family, supportive neighbours, and others who care! Why wait for the government, it’s time to develop a vision, and take a first step. Come out to see how others did this?
