The OICC is the first integrative cancer care and research centre of its kind in Eastern Canada. We are so fortunate to have this option available to us locally! Using a holistic, patient-centred approach, it welcomes people at any stage of cancer and those wishing to prevent it, to help reduce treatment side effects, improve quality of life, and help prevent recurrence. www.oicc.ca. We are two local women who have benefitted from this wonderful Centre, and we would like to "pay it forward". On October 14, from 8:45 to 12:30, we are sponsoring a fundraiser for OICC. It will be held at the Johnstown Community Centre, 24 Sutton Drive, Johnstown. - Learn about the OICC and its services - Hear two local patient stories: Judie Martin's, and Sue Turner's (including how yoga has helped!) - Participate in a mindful meditation and 2 yoga class offerings - Gentle Hatha and Yin - Enjoy refreshments - Everyone is welcome! No yoga experience necessary. Bring a yoga mat if you have one and a small blanket / large towel. Some extra mats will be available, - By donation - 100% of the proceeds will benefit OICC patients in need of financial subsidy. Donations at the event may be made by cash or cheque, payable to the OICC Foundation. If you are unable to attend and still wish to make a donation, please contact Sue - Official tax receipts, over $20, will be forwarded in the mail by the OICC - Find more info and kindly pre-register at www.sueturner.ca - Please share this event and help us "pay it forward"!
